HMV.
on: October 14, 2011, 12:51:51 PM
Well just like to put my experiences across with using HMV online.

I vaguely remember ordering and cancelling once in the past because an item that was in stock when ordering suddenly went out of stock.

I decided to give them a second chance, the Tron Double pack was on special last week so i decided to order it on the 4th, on the 7th my account received a msg that it was dispatched which was fine, its now the 14th, after calling them i am told that the dispatch date is actually the date that payment is taken and that the order shipped 3 days later on the 10th, the original estimated delivery time was 3-6 days.

How does this make sense?

Since the item has come off of special offer and gone back to full price i saw the amendment that its now on 24 hour delivery.

What a joke, i won't be using them again.

I've used them before a while ago and had no issues, but it has to be said I do read a lot of complaints about Zavvi, the Hut, HMV etc. Really I don't know everyone doesn't just use Amazon/Play as they always match prices or have the best to begin with. I also know goods will be well packaged by them and won't arrive mashed up or with smashed corners.

Unless something is considerably cheaper I will always buy from Amazon, it helps that I have a prime sub so get next day.

This was my mindset before I had to deal with their customer services... and now after having to deal with them twice I think I would buy ALL of my goods from them :P

Amazon's customer service is beyond compare IMO. Play is also excellent in that respect, never had problems with either when I've had to ring them for a replacement or refund.

Thats cus the contractual terms set with distys includes clauses like they can return goods upto 3 months after supply in whatever condition they like, New, Used or Open Boxed, by doing this they don't really need customer service.
