Right just bought the w800i and im having the same problem than everyone else - when i transfer music (either manually or with disc2phone, only some (if any!!) actually ARE on the phone once i unplug it.

Now i know this is a common problem but i was wondering if any of you lot have had any success in fixing it?How etc?

Never heard of that problem myself.

I plug my phone in, copy the music across using xps "removable drive" malarky, and then unplug. Works fine.

What you may have done is copy it across, go into walkman and tried playing it. The walkman is using its old playlist so wont play your new music. Or... youve copied it across, its WMA or OGG or some other unsupported format so its not showing up in the walkman playlist editor.

buy a card reader and put it directly onto the card... much easier

to install and play dont think its possible, not even with editing the GDFS.

to store and install from, just put em in the other folder.

Is it possible you are copying to the phone memory instead of the Memorystick?  That caught me out.

You cant install games to the Memory Stick, you cant even alter the GDFS to point to the memory stick as the install directory.

You can however, copy the .jar to the memory stick and choose to install it to your phone from there.

Best thing to do is, store games on your stick, uninstall ones you dont need/install ones you do need. This can be done on the fly as the installers are on your memory stick.

had them disappear if i unplug it before its finished "using" the card.

pops up a message on disc 2 phone, been fine if i use the "unplug / remove hardware" icon on the taskbar as well

ah, that is a problem with the phone

if you remove the phone when the computer is accessing the memory stick at all it doesnt return control of the stick to the phone, when you connect the phone to the pc the pc has total control of the memory stick and the phone has none

i never connect my phone to the pc as i normally have problems, generally with the syncing stuff

new R1BC002 firmware (out today):

- Hissing sound while low volume call is gone: It works! Hissing is definitely gone now.
- Photos are now taken as soon as the shutter sound is heard: Also OK. This is very good as I used to miss some good pictures because of the the time transcurred between the shutter sound and the picture actually being taken.
- Free memory listed in MB instead of KB. I personally prefer the old KB system.
- I have not noticed any increase in phone responsiveness and speaker and headphone volume seem very similar to me.
- I think music quality is more or less the same.
- USB transfer problems fixed now.
