props go to zpyder I guess for posting the truffle recipe as I spotted the can chicken there...

anyway...

make sure you wrap the f**king bird in foil to keep it steaming (not the alcohol version of steaming!)  inside.

The veg is basically what I had in the fridge.. Potatoes, Leek (Im Welsh see), onion, Carrot, mushrooms & 2 tins of tomato..
rub the chicken with your favourite spices & put some in your lager as well.

I found a can of carling in the garage. Plan was to get a can of proper full ale from teh shop, but my knee is playing up so I was housebound again :(

anyway... I had seconds :OD so succulent & juicy.

Real Ale may make a difference, but as for carling.... you may as well use water.
It was really really juicy though. From the breast to the leg (I had 2nds :D).

The true test would be in a Turkey, as Turkey is usually really dry.

Hmm, glad to be of assistance. I wonder how it would go down if I suggest my dad does this for xmas, as I hate how dry turkey is.

I want to know what the turkey is like.. though my turkey (well I go to parents for xmas lunch - so their turkey) would never fit standing up in the oven.

Quite odd.. dont like chicken leg, but like chicken breast.. dont like turkey breast, but like turkey leg!

give it a test run on a chicken - i couldnt believe how succulent the chicken was.. still needs some experimenting.. maybe skewer the chick through a few times to get more
taste penetration, but otherwise, it was moist & juicy... I was nearly sucking the bones!

My dad wasnt offended by the suggestion of his chicken being dry haha, but he is adamant that either the paint from the can, or the can itself would taint the flavour. Did you notice any none-beer flavours in the chicken?

no, I couldnt taste alcohol - or paint - another option is to use a tin can & remove the wrapper.
