Job offer messed up

What would you do?

You apply for a job advertised at 22ph. They phone the next day and say its £24ph, so you say yeah put my CV forward. They phone back and offer you the job so you say yeah fine. But then the contract comes through on email and its £14ph, so you email back cos its a typo but they say no it aint, its 14ph.

Worse still, its ad-hoc and atm thats only 1 day.

So anyway normally Id tell em to feck off but its a massive company, C***** P****.

am I totally wrong in thinking I should politely decline the job or make excuses for not turning up?
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

It was them I spoke to on the phone :/

...Ugh, I was half asleep when I took the call. Im 90% sure they were all from cp anyway.

edit: Actually, i just looked at the application confirmation and its them advertising it and not an agency.

Explain to them you were offered the job at £24 an hour, they can either stick with that or you refuse to work for them. Doesnt matter how big a company is, if they make you an offer and then renegue on it then tell them to F off.

I tended to do it politely and condescendingly though, explain you wouldnt work for such an underhanded, lying, slimy, backstabbing one as theirs

feck me that is taking the piss

just tell them you are worth 24ph and if they want you that is what they have to pay

if youve got a couple of years experience then a company really is taking the piss if they want to pay you the same as the secretaries.
