The whole idea of calling British people limeys is wrong, Original was lemons because the Vit C stops scurvy developing, limes were used vor a very short time in the mistaken belief that these would be equally good but dont have anywhere near the amount of vit C required.

So at best you can call British sailors lemonies, which doesnt have the same ring to it.
