oh my dear god?

The Kansas Board of Education approved a controversial measure yesterday that will ban all Pokemon video games, trading cards, and related merchandise because of the franchise’s blatant promotion of evolution. The vote, which passed by a narrow margin after weeks of debate amongst members of the board, is being hailed as a victory by conservatives and religious groups.

Teachers will now be required to search their students at the beginning of the school day to make sure that they aren’t carrying any copies of the game. Any copies that are found will be immediately and permanently confiscated, and the student may be subject to punishments ranging from a temporary suspension to outright expulsion for repeat violators.

Putting aside the childishness of the storylines/characters, theyre really good games in my eyes! I still play them :)

I like the games, its just one of those fun simple games that can keep you ocupied for ages if your bored and want something to do.

Some religious groups have just forced themselves into a corner by not being flexible - so they just have to keep fighting for this stuff otherwise they think theyve been wasting their time.

Im still waiting for the selling daughters into slavery to take off in the US.  Its in the bible...

:D Didnt think id be right on that! Theyre incredible. Saw them live at Birmingham last year and it was the best gig Ive been to.

Ditto for scientists :P TBH in some ways they are even worse, at least the religious groups use language you can understand easily rather than a load of gobbledegook  :shock:

Theres no real proof either way, although there have been some suspicious happenings that just cant be explained by science.

Is string theory really a theory yet? Just heard yet another webcast from New Scientist that says it isnt. Really its a hypothesis pretending to be something more substantial  :mrgreen:  8)
