Interesting article on colour blind folks...

http://critiquewall.com/2007/12/10/blindness

According to Wikipedia there are an estimated 10.5 million American men who are red green color blind. I am one of them. I discovered this many years ago and rarely think about it as to me it is normal. However, I have discovered that those around me are endlessly fascinated with it—especially designers. So, to you I provide this public service message on color blindness.

First a little bit of myth busting. Red and green do not appear gray to me, perhaps less bright then you are used to but not gray. Second, color blindness does not give me superpowers. I cannot magically see through red and green objects and describe what is behind them. (It would be nice at times though (-: .)

Not sure where the discussion would be tbh.

* Lots of people (mainly men are colour blind).
* Red green is the most common.
* Designers do put far too much attention to the problem (remeber studying this nonsense in interaction design and seemed a bit of a way of justifying doing the course which was otherwise pretty pointless/obvious)
* He does not have super powers

Not sure what else there is to debate - he pretty much has it covered in your first post..  Its like saying hot is warmer than cold then asking for a debate on the topic.

Well.. if your colourblind & read the article, it is all bullsh*t.
just cos your red / green colour blind doesnt mean you cant actually see the colours... (well for 99.5% of people) you just have problems diffirentiating (sp) shades of greens & reds.

Look here

I can only see the top left as 25 & the middle right that looks like 56

I can see reds, I can see greens, yet I fail red/green colour tests everytime.
