Murderer goes nuts over Governors Christmas card
on: December 21, 2006, 14:59:46 PM
Our governor, a very gentle and decent man as far as politicians go, send out his cards this year with one of his paintings on the front, as he does every year. This year he painted a young Afghan woman he met, as "While it may seem odd to put a portrait of a young Muslim woman on a Christmas card, this Season reminds us that He loves His children most of all." Sounds sweet and seasonal to me.

Heres the painting:

And heres what the murderer turned preacher says:
"If on Martin Luther King Day, you sent a picture of a Klansman and said Martin Luther had a dream that this guy would one day get along with the people hes trying to kill, Im not sure the African-American community would handle that very well," Davis said. "Christmas is about Christ. Put a picture of the Savior on our card."

Thats a bit of a stretch, aint it? To those gawd-fairing people, shes still just the enemy, just another brown rag head.

The local holy rollers are all in a lather about it. Its really sad, as its just a political attack, as the governors a Democrat. Spirit of Christmas indeed. How sad.

cant stand this PC sh*t tbh... christmas is christmas not some multi faith winterval or happy holidays - it is a religious celebration - Id treat with contempt any supposed christmas card that seems to go out of its way to try and be political.

(though it goes without saying that the murderers KKK comparision is also blatant f**kwittery too)

What does that have to do with anything? The governor sent out a Christmas card as hes a christian. The person on the cover wasnt a Christian, but was a symbol of hope. Whats so controversial about that?

Saying "Happy Holidays!" is also fine by me. Not everybodys a Christian, so not everybody feels compelled to use the Christian greeting. There is no PC war on Christmas, except the one made up by the right wing lather-tards. Go to the shopping mall, looks like Christmas is doing quite well.

This holiday was an appropriation of any number of winter solstice celebrations, if you want to be more PC, then call it Yule as the basis for the celebration is far from Christian.

If youre really worried about the "war on Christmas" or whatever the talking necks in England call it, then attack its commercialization, dont just emptily criticize a greeting.

Uh, what about sending out a Christmas card with a Christian message of hope is so bad? Did somebody sand your lips while you slept or something? The misplaced outrage level is high.  Try a balm.

There are plenty of Muslims who support and celebrate Christmas, while Christ in their translation of things rates a prophet he is one of the highest order. TBH Christians have a lot more in common with Muslims than they do with Jewish people.

Really its just going for a relatively minor difference and shoving a crowbar in, mostly its the my x is better than your y field of thought. As such we should have grown out of it by our mid teens but in most people it continues and in fanatics can go on to old age.

No harm in Dickensian scenes with snow and jovial festive cheer at all, breaking with tradition is just trying to get peoples tongues wagging, and hes succeeded.

Christmas is a christian festival, yes, but cretins with too much to say are what ruins it. People should start embracing love and peace... isnt that the message of Christianity/Islam anyway?

Cheers

GOD JUL  (merry x-mas in swedish) Christ was not born 25 of december, when europe was christened they toke over allready existing holidays like JUL, sweden AFIK is the only country that kept the original term for celebrating that the longest night is gone and lighter times are comming ,JUL
dricka jul (to "drink" yule) so it is NOT a christian holiday it is stolen by christianity which when it reached sweden, one of the last places christened it, was more of a political movement using the fear of God as a force to conquer.

December 25th was directly connected to the cult of the Emperor in Rome, Ceasars since Augustus were called son of God too (which caused some problems when JC started getting called it). The two merged and became one item.
