You have to renew it every 10 years here too. The 70 age is just when you have to resit your test.

No you just have to send a form off to renew your license at 70.

Providing youve had a license since 1976, not been disqualified and no medical conditions stop your from driving.  It will be renewed.

So like I said then :)

Not quite - theres no test re-sit. My poor old mum would have had a heart attack otherwise  8-)

You should have to resit every 10 years anyway. Drivers over 50 are rubbish.

if you have to renew every 10years, then mine is out of date & has been for a long time.

its only the photocard ones you have to renew, makes sense as rare is the 70 year old who still looks 17.

I have a photo one - not long after they came out. Lost my original.

Mine says its valid until 2053, and I was born 1093, so 70 as Cypher says.

or 960? Bloody immortals knackering the health system for the rest of us.

Makes chrisdicko the oldest member of these, or any other forums by a very long way. Wonder what he did while waiting for the car and computer to be invented

So hes 914 years old? Do they call the fire brigade before or after they light the candles on his cake? :mutley:

Ive just looked at my card, and its expiry bares no resemblance to my test date. It expires the day before my 27th birthday. I think even the changing photos renewals must be age related rather than time related.

I find the biggest problem on the roads (obviously except women) is the number of people who cut lanes on a roundabout.

Or people that dont know how to use a round about or abuse it and use different lanes and pretend to get confused, oh they piss me off.

or people who indicate late/not at all/in totally  the opposite direction from where they are going.

Or drive all the way round the outside lane.

Still you can hardly blame people for getting confused at roundabouts, so many of them are so poorly marked its almost surprising to come across one where the spiral actually makes sense.

edit:

oooo I forgot to rant about lights

Theres people who drive around in the mist and rain and snow with no lights on at all so you cant see them.

Then theres the people who have no idea what the words "dip beam" mean.

Then theres the people who run all the time with their fog lights on dispite there not having been any for weeks. I would assume theyve just forgotten to turn them off, except that the other day I followed a Skoda Fabia with his hi-vi rear light on. Since I drive one myself I know for a fact that the fog light on a Skoda turns itself off when you turn off the headlights. Since there had been no fog that day, this guy had intentionally turned on his fog light in perfect visibility.

I some times feel like starting a series on YouTube called "Bad driving morons" or something similar.

And I film my driving and the cars in front and behind to whats happening and it wouldnt be long until I found some one who was being a twat.
