Just got my Nokia 5800 today.

Carphone Warehouse has a great deal on:

100mins, Unlimited Text, Free Phone - £15p/m

I begged for free internet and got given a 3gb p/m 3G from them as well included.

Will give some feedback on Nokias first touch screen phone, anyone else got one?

Sounds a great deal but they are having to do so to get them to sell because they have problems, the touch is not up to scratch and its successor has already been previewed by Nokia which I think is bizarre. When this was first shown off it did not come with the pen either.
It is a good phone but with ones like the palm pre coming its going to get swamped.

I had a couple of teething problems but it was just a case of sitting down and working out what is what and how to fix it, Ive still got one common error but after reading up on the Nokia website its a firmware problem and a path is due for release within the next week.

The touch screen it self feels responsive, the original test models they where throwing about originally all reviews said they where poor, but the newer reviews showed an improvement overall. Only thing thats really annoyed me about what they could of done after getting feedback is they didnt enlarge the camera size and the lens is still really small, tho with the correct source of light the pictures can be of a really good standard.

The offer is on the o2 network, sexytw. :)

This is true but the prototype working was shown off ad the electronics expo and in private already so its quite close, Probably will see it some time this year. They may have improved the 5800 for launch but I think they themselves know it came too late and was not quite what it should have been and not their usual standards.

Yeah I agree with that, but Im just willing to wait on mainly Firmware upgrades, the hardware its self Im finding brilliant, but the software needs some major re-works. Updated to the lastest firmware and still got a couple of problems with it mainly on downloading software complains of a certificate error, but I remember my NGage having this same problem and I just had to wait on a UK Firmware upgrade.

I plan to have a real tinker with the phone tomorrow, see what its like streaming onto a TV from iPlayer and also network shared drives (one feature that shocked me). Its going to take me a while to get used to a touchscreen keyboard.

Will report back tomorrow after I have a good play and tinker with everything it can give me, the design of the phone in all is good, confused me at first on how to get the SIM card out, but after a read of the manual its a well thought out design :)

Photo taken last night on my 5800 at max resolution but dropped all the photos down to 1024x768 for going online and added a border my self as well. Sort of impressed for having the smallest lens in the world.
