See if we get any complaints about email delivery.  Great thing is, once the mc-server is running, and you close your remote desktop connection, the server dissapears.  Invisible MC FTW!

Why is it, my Laptop with its Intel HD Graphics (Gets 5.1 and 4.6 in Windows Performance Index) cant play Minecraft smoothly, whereas my Desktop (Geforce 6200, 2.6/4.3) Can?

I have seen some youtube clips of this.
Is this really addictive?

CRAZY!

Then this made me laugh:

Appearing from people on twitter and I can not quite see the appeal at the moment, whats good about it?

the appeal is 2 fold, depending on your style of play and game mode.

Youve got Classic mode, which is basically just first person giant lego with infinite bricks and flowing water/lava. Quite cool to be creative in, but for me gets dull after a while and really only any good with a bunch of people in multiplayer (IMO).

Then you have Alpha or Survival mode. Unfortunately this doesnt work properly in multiplayer yet as the damage monitoring and a few other game mechanics like minecarts are broken. In this mode you have to mine/craft your resources, and at night various monsters try to eat your brains. You start off with nothing and have to pull down a tree with your bare hands to make basic tools and construct a shelter in which you can live through the night.

From that point on its a massive sandbox and you find yourself thinking "Ill just complete the second floor of my monster uber-fortress of doom and then Ill go have lunch". It gets  to dinner time and you realise youre now really hungry, but the uber-fortress of doom still doesnt have a roof.

For such a basic game, it seems to need quite a powerful server, its melted two now!

Its not the server, its the buggy minecraft server.

I think because Im running it remotely, when the machine locks itself its kicking off the java program.

Im updating the server, gimme a couple of minutes.

If it gives you a javasocketexception itll kill the server app, so youll need to wait for me to get back from football later.
