Annoying Resolution issue
on: April 26, 2006, 11:46:06 AM
Every time I start up my HTPC it reverts to 640x480 (Im guessing its because its connected to my HDTV Plasma & is getting a little confused as to what its capable of!)

Is there any way I can force it to start with a fixed resolution?

(System: Pioneer PDP436 plasma display, Athlon XP 2500+, ATI Radeon 9200SE (soon to be replaced with 9800SE AIW), running WinXP)

what sort of output are you using from the 9200se to connect to the plasma?

DVI (& a DVI -> HMDI converted to feed it to the plasma)

id check the ATI control panel and make sure the "use DCC information" is unticked and that the max res & refresh rates are put in.

may do the trick,
if it doesnt, id also "uninstall" the monitor as well from windows and just set it as a generic one
