Show unread posts since last visit - funky behaviour
on: September 21, 2012, 10:03:15 AM
I think I've said this before, and not had much joy, but I get some weird behaviour with "Show unread posts", in the sense that often I click it and nothing gets shown, or a handful get shown. But when I go to the main forum page I can clearly see forums that have unread/new posts in them, often threads that I've participated in.

There's been a few times I've thought the forums were quite dead, and then seen that in actual fact threads I'd started have had several new replies in them. An example would be the sports watch thread I started in the sports forum, "show new posts" didn't list it, but metalhead had posted in it.

It's not a cache/computer issue as it's across the board, laptop, desktop, work computer, and possibly even tapatalk. I'm curious whether it might actually be tapatalk at fault, if it's staying logged in to the site or something?

Can't say I've ever experienced issues with it. Are we talking about "Show unread posts since last visit" or "Show new replies to your posts", or both? I never use the latter one.

If anyone else has had issues though let's try and get to the bottom of it, maybe it is tapatalk.

I've never noticed anything in browser and use it all the time.

well I didn't think anyone had replied until I checked the forum properly,  show unread posts since last visit showed only the micro server thread.  Maybe it is Tapatalk after all? I guess I could uninstall it to see?

Is the Tapatalk client something that may need updating? Server side we're on the latest version.

It's constantly updated, probably on a weekly basis. This is something that I've noticed for probably over a year now  :o
