6 to 6 to 4 to 6

I have a LaCie external hardrive which used to be connected to my PC via
6-pin to 6-pin
Firewire.
I now have the need to use it with my laptop but its only got one of them little 4-pin 1394 thingy sockets.
Mah question is: will the hard drive
still
self-power?
?

Depsite the fact you disovered it for yourself, its worth mentioning, those 2 pins provide 45 watts of power per port at up to 30 volt. Up to 63 Devices.
