Exchange 2003 and event logs, Google-Fu required
on: December 26, 2012, 22:07:05 PM
Easy question,

If an Exchange 2003 service doesn't start after rebooting a server, and then subsequently the service is manually started, should an event be logged in the event viewer?

I've got a server that apparently didn't start the information store service after a reboot. I need to prove either way that (a) the service did actually start by itself, or (b) it didn't start and someone did indeed need to start it manually.

Is this doable?

Yeah usually there's a message in either the app it system log (can't remember which) that simply says 'the information store service has started'. I see this everytime we bounce a server.
