Trunking for LCDs??
on: July 18, 2007, 19:16:11 PM
Im half thinking of mounting my new LCD on the chimney breast when I get my flat. Im still in two minds weather to chase the walls and mount the cabling in there, then replaster etc. Or, to get some neat form of trunking to hide the cables, as this then gives me the options of moving the TV, changing cables as and when I get new hardware, and.....will be a lot less effort!!

What solutions are out there??

erm...

Really depends on your room layout.
Chase it out is so much neater, but a bastard if you want to run a new cable or replace a broken one.

Currently my computer room looks like this

two tone wall paper with a hand rail....

Abracadabra

Another Solution is to have a purpose built stand & dont wall mount it.
I was looking at getting a Solid wood base from somwhere & Have two or three steel Supports coming out of it running vertical, that would somhow attach to the LCD, the vertical pipes would be Chromed (cheap enough to get done) & big enough to run your cables.

Yeah, Id like to run it in the walls, but it will be a PITA if something needs replacing etc.....which knowing me it will.....

Found something like this which could work maybe me!

Yours is neat egg! Im wanting something more vertical though really like the pic. Would get it in black i think though to match the samsung tvs....or silver to make it stand out, and make a sort of feature from it.
