Ill reserve judgement until I see it, whilst a lot of them are awful there have been a few remakes, reimaginings and reinterpretations that have made excellent viewing.

I guess, BSG was quite cool. AFAIK its only a 6 parter so I hope theyve decided to just do a feature feature length mini-series, rather than it be the pilot to something.
Main problems facing it is I think the prisoner is American, and "The Village" is now "The Island" set in Africa somewhere :/
At least Gandalf is #2 heh.

Its a shame that theyve moved the location. One of the fantastic things about the original show was the setting and how it was filmed, in fact Id go as far as to say that Portmeirion and Penrhyndeudraeth really were the stars of the show in certain episodes and really contributed to the atmosphere.
