New surround receiver required

My old samsung AV-R620 is getting on a bit, the fan has gotten rather loud and the volume knob on the front has busted.. so im looking for something to replace it
I have 5 satellites and an active amp by yamaha, not mega loud but doesnt need to be.
Id like to save a few £ and keep the speakers, they are just bare wire connections, and the amp has a mono phono link.
Ideally looking for something cheap, id like true hd and/or dts hd or whatever the new ones are, i have DTS so far and want to upgrade really.
Needs to have an optical in naturally as all my kit runs through that and ideally a couple of analogue inputs.
So can anyone recommend something thats good value?

Onkyo stuff gets good reviews, nicely priced and sounds nice.

Second vote for Onkyo kit, it always gets great reviews and recommendations.
Alternatively check ebay for a decent second hand Denon/Marantz or similar decent British made receiver

If its well looked after youll have no problem with decent second hand kit. If hes a mate hes especially less likely to rip you off with it, ask him why hes selling.

Not too long, just unplugged everything and pulled all the kit off my tv stand and started from scratch.
loads of cables left over as everything is running through HDMI, setup with the setup mic was easy and programming the remote and inputs was easy, all good.
