360 Online ...
on: June 16, 2008, 11:11:18 AM
Have had a 360 for over a year now. Am a very occassional gamer and as such never connected to live before, let alone even the internet with it. I am about to get the 360 online for the first time in the next week or so.

So, I know you can download demos etc, and there are many mini games etc. But, what have I missed? What little games, downloads etc are really cool and would be a must have download or worth a look. I heard there are several small type game downloads that work with the Scene-It big buzzer controllers which I own. Do you just search through an online database of stuff? Is it a case of you can download stuff based on what may be available? What if you miss something and would like it at a later stage?

Am totally new to this, so would very much appreciate an idea of what its all about. Are there film trailers, movies or anything to download? I have seen the PS3 online downloadable stuff, it looks relatively intuitive; although you download whats available in a given time period which just gets updated. There are film trailers etc.

Thanks

To be honest your best just plugging in and finding your own way round. Its easy to navigate and not at all overwhelming - youll probably totally understand the layout in about 5 minutes. Theres not really any need to be pointed in the right direction etc.. Half the fun is exploring the different sections yourself and seeing what you can find.

Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

Also,

I really like the look of the interface on the PS3. I am aware you can change the 360 dashboard; are there any really great looking skins that can be applied. I ideally want simplistic and slick looking.

Also, any other hacks/tweaks mods worth doing or looking at?  I dont mean mod-chipping it as I dont mind paying for a game as it means I actually get round to completing it.

Suggestions welcomed.

The one theme I have used from the start is the Rare theme. I have tried a lot of others but always go back to the Rare theme as its just a nice clean theme.
