Sandy Bridge chipset problem.

Make of it what you will but must be pretty serious if Intel is putting it's hand up .

It's not that big a deal, but it looks like they are doing the smartest thing possible, getting it sorted as early as possible before the majority of units are sold. Good on them, rather than trying to sweep the issue under the carpet.

Guess upgrading my gaming comp will have to wait I was planning to order a new chip, mobo and Ram towards the end of February, they are expecting there to be shortages of updated mobo’s till March/April.  :'(

Do think Intel need applauding for the way they are handling this so far, they are estimating over 3 years of use it would see a failure rate of approximately 5 - 15%, which to me seems quite low given the time frame, but I guess they don’t want to risk being sued again after just paying out $1 ½ billion to Nvidia  :lol:
