Calling DLink DSL-G624T Users!
on: December 02, 2006, 22:07:57 PM
Lo all, its been a while since I last posted .. my account no longer worked!!

Anyway, just moved house and decided I cant be bothered routing wires all over the place, so decided to go wireless.

I got the Dlink DSLDSL-G624T (ADSL2+ and all that   ) comes with a USB jobby for the PC end.

I followed the instructions, plugged it all in with the router next to the PC as to rule out any distance issues. I got it all to work  8) . I then left it be as I would eventually get around to tiding up and will put the router where it should be. Over the last few days the wireless chooses to let BB through or not depending on how it feels. It tells me that it has got a link to the router but I get no BB. As soon as I plug a LAN cable in it all works fine (edit: BB comes down the wire not wireless, but at least I get BB!).

2 days ago I noticed that even on the wired setup the BB was getting slower. This is when I got the old router out plugged it in and I get full speed BB no probs.

Ive tried starting from scratch with the wireless router but now I get no link up at all with the wireless nevermind BB being passed through.

Is this a dodgy unit or is it me?

Please help.
D.

I use a 3COM but the principles are similar, usually they work or they dont. Did you just check your download speed or have you logged into the router and checked the speed its connected at directly?.

Have you got MAC filtering and encryption enabled?

loads of things could be affecting. Have you checked the strength of the wireless signal, your NAT settings, firewall etc... ?
