I cannot even begin to get my head around the migration problems that'll ensue from going IPv4 to IPv6.

Now "there is no place like 127.0.0.1"

IPv6 confuses the hell out of me, how am I supposed to remember IP addresses now :|

Edit turns out there will be no place like 0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1, better start re-printing those t-shirts now :P

And also see if your ISP is IPv6 ready... visit http://ipv6.google.com/ although I expect if your router/OS is not setup for IPv6 then this wont work, but I'm well out of my depth at this point?

IPv6 has quirks/issues with Server 2008/Win7 from what I've seen so far at work.. I'm expecting major headaches.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

I don't think it's going to have much effect yet.  IPv4 for internal networks won't be going anywhere just yet.
Your router should take care of the switching.

My recent Vigor 2920 doesn't support IPv6 and by the looks of the official replies on their forums it never will :(

IPv6 is going to be a slow and easy change over i think, its mostly self addressing anyway from what iv heard.
