The damn things just told me my copy isnt valid anymore. I have an OEM licence and I think its now invalid because I upgraded my PC.

Anyone else had this ?

yeap :s

I phone the activation number and explained that I had to upgrade as *x* component died.

The operator went and spoke to their line manager who gave them authorisate to issue me with an activation number over the phone :)

Ah thats a good idea. Heard of many people being told to take WinXP and MS Office back to the supplier if its OEM. The supplier then refusing to speak about it.

Yeah, this is all you really need to do, what do you do when your pc blows up and you need a new part? Go buy a new windows copy every time? LOL, so ring up say it blew up and replace parts and they just give it over the phone, last time i did it they did not even go to the manager

Cheers.

Ill give that a go. Its bad enough having to call them each time I reinstall to get a damn code. Nevermind trying to convince them Im using a genuine version.

If I run the MS MGA diagnostics tool it says its a genuine copy. Same happens if I go to authenticate it again. Strange.

You just run the genuine tool, you can say you got it and works and even generate a code if you want and tell them down the phone, if you say"if you check it will be fine" they wont and take your word for it also.

Well I did nothing and now all the pop ups have gone away for some reason.

Very strange
