Is anyone else having issues with the speed of their BT Openworld ADSL connection?

Mines been up and down like a brides nighty and while it is working again now, its painfully slow...

 :?

EDIT: im running Mac Update ATM, its going to take 1hr to download a 14.4Mb update...    :x

Apparently it is something to do with the upgrading of exchanges to accomodate the faster connections ala 8MB...

I?ve rang BT (after experiencing endless problems actually connecting to the net) and got put through to an Indian call centre; possibly the worst customer service ever - he told me i needed to upgrade my connection, to get faster speeds? Would upgrading mean i?d actually be able to connect too?? sh?yeah, right, charlatans!

You could look on the positive side and say that youre getting the upgrade early in the programme, as the change to all adsl users in the UK is projected to take several months.
