AMD XGP card?
on: November 28, 2010, 21:01:07 PM
Well Box actually.

Ive just odered an Acer Ferrari one, and its got an XGP port on it.  Anyone know anywhere you can pick up one of the XGP Breakout boxes?  I know the Acer one is called "DynaVid", but I cant find them for sale anywhere.  Im guessing the AMILIO one from Fujitsu works as well, but even ebay is only showing a single one in Germany!

HELP!

Isn’t the XGP port looking like a bit of a white elephant? I remember reading about them when they first came out over 12 months ago and doing a goggle now they don’t appear to have caught on at all.

Wouldnt a cheap gaming laptop with HMDI out maybe be a better option?

Theyve been a little limited until now.  The reason I got the Notebook is that I wanted something portable with bit more grunt than an Atom, without spending fortunes.  £350 at Argos, with £10 back on a voucher, and Ive used £50 of Argos gift vouchers Ive had for a year.  Im just wondering if anyone had seen the XGP cards anywhere because itd be handy on occasion as the machine can use a Hybrid Crossfire if you have the right card.  Im not desperate for one, but itd be nice to have!

Just ordered 4Gb of RAM to drop in it anyway, and may stick an SSD up its arse!
