Even though this is a Fox picture, Rodriguez said the studio left him alone and let this be a Troublemaker Studios production. Fox told Rodriguez, "We want you to protect this movie from us. We want you to go down there and do it your own way." They wanted it to reflect a film-makers vision, in the same way the Nolan Batman films do. Not having someone breathing down your neck and making demands doesnt just give you more freedom, says Antal — it also makes you work harder because youre energized instead of demoralized. (It was similar to the making of King Kong, added Brody — a studio film that felt like an independent film.)

Applies to anything.
I am liking how my boss is kind of finally getting this, if he leaves me be I produce some cool stuff he can see. Movies are the same, to many bigwigs stick their nose in and mess up a movie.

Making the last aliens vs predator movies a lower rating trying to aim at a broader audience did not work. The proper essence of a predator movie is that grit horroresk roller-coaster that happens to have action at the right times, not the other way around.

I can tell that is  "I want this to be good, it looks like it is going to be good BUT I have been burned of late by BAD movies"

Annoyingly by making me answer that, it no longer is all...

You were close, but not 100%.

I want it to be good, I want all films I know I will watch to be good. BUT, I am not sure it looks good. I will reserve judgement till the proper trailer is out, as I think (& hope) that partly this may be because all behind the scenes footage tends to make a film look a little more low-rate than it might actually be.

On the skin of it though you have to wonder whether they are doing predatorS on the basis of someone somewhere saying "What would make Predator better...I know, more predators" - If thats the one hook....

Not sure what to say other than I hope it will be at least semi-good, the same way I hoped AVP 1 & 2 would be good and well look what happened there. One made the Preds in to a bunch of inept sissies, the other was devoid of any real plot elements what so ever.
