Someone please input on this as im looking for a good AGP card as well...

The BFG Tech GeForce 7800GS OC 256mb seems okay and safe for a while... Its GDDR3 as well.

although i went for a powercolor x850 pro (12 pipe) and flashed it to a 16 pipeline x850 xt pe
got that off lowestontheweb a month or two back, instructions for flashing and checking if its flashable are on techpowerup.net
although id beware of "fake" x850 pros using substandard ram from the far east, spotted one or two on ebay when i was looking.

compares to a 6800 ultra if your thinking in nvidian.

either that or ebay for a 6800 ultra is my only other reconning.

youd seriously be better off getting a new mobo if that A64 is a socket 939 one and saving the hassle of hunting down an better AGP card than youve currently got.

Hmm what kind of performance increase can I expect from the GeCube ATI Radeon X1950 Pro  compared to my current card (6600GT) ?

couldnt honestly say till theres some benchmarks,
least youve got a amd64 and not a athlon xp so youve got a good chance of taxing it.

Personally I think it would be cheaper to buy a 939 PCI board & GFX, both now and in the long run.

My brother recently upgraded to a pair of Asus 7900GTs from a similar, maybe slightly lower, level. Performance in 3Dmark03 went from 7500 to 25,000 and his processor is just a 64bit 3200+ which is acting as the system bottleneck. Similar increases in 05 and 06. It *should* give it a good kick in the pants but you cant always guarantee it.

/covering own butt...  ;)
