I want to buy a new stereo for my car that allows me to plug in my ipod. Any recommednations, I dont just want a daft jack cable, I want something that interfaces electronically.

The Sony ones are alright, thats basically a scaled down version of mine (no USB slot, maybe less wattage)

The new Alpines do well with iPods. If you go top end itl even give you the album art etc.
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo… Again.

You could get an Ipod interface for your headunit.  I am sure there will be an http://www.connects2.com equivalent in the US of A.

just get a plug in FM transmitter for the ipod

no need to change radio then

Ill give these a thumbs up, ive had one for about two years.

You used to have to buy the interface on top of the head unit but they are built in now.
