Rear Speakers very quiet unless turn right up
on: July 23, 2009, 13:18:34 PM
I was messing around with EQ, Balance and fader settings in the car yesterday and noticed that if I turn the fader to 100% rear I can barely hear anything.

But if I turn the volume up to a normal level the sound gets louder and sounds perfect but then if I put the fader back to 50/50 front/rear the volume is deafening from the front speakers.

Its all standard Audi Kit.

What do you think is causing that? Could the rear speakers be blown?

I know there are hidden EQ settings the Stereo that you need to do secret key presses to access and I have messed around with them in past but cant imagine they would make such a big difference.

Thanks

being an audi it might have a seperate amp for the rears, which could be blown/duff

Ill have a look but I dont think it has, only the BOSE system gets that.

Might be time for an upgrade.

bose systems came half amped and fully amped dependant on head unit. not that thats much help here, cos it doesnt sound like its got bose.

what you should do is offer me 150 notes for my full bose concert system out of my S4 (thats head unit, changer/amp in carrier and all speakers and swap that in!

yeah, symphony is one up, which probably means its fully amped and it sounds like youve got an amplifier that has blown.
