tyre pressures

Im wondering what tyre pressure my truck should be (L200)
It has BFG Goodrich chunky all terrain tyres like

What should the tyre pressure be? the book PSI or the tyre PSI?
book says 26 front & 31 back - the BFG's say 65PSI
Im assuming the tyres arent factory fitted, so maybe I should ignore the 26/31 & do what the tyres say?
My brother recommends I pump them up to 55, my dad says go by the book.
They look under inflated to me, but what I know about cars you could write on a postage stamp.

Isn't the tyre one the absolute maximum?
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Normally says inside the door.
Doesn't matter if you've changed the tyres, pressures don't usually change.

It should be ~27psi unloaded, or 31 front / 41 rear loaded.

ive whacked them up to 35 - I'll leave them at that then instead of pushing 60psi into them :D

I used to run 40psi all the time in the Delica.

the pressure on the side of the tyre is just the max pressure

I'd go with what that handbook says and see how they wear down - if there's more wear in the middle they're over inflated, and if it's more on both outside edges then they're under inflated

bigger tyres normally = less pressure not more...
(because there's more surface area in contact with the road...)

do you put much weight in the back ?

take a photo of what they look like and post it up.... :-)
