Have you thought of maybe using the stuff used to flatten out an uneven floor? Self Levelling Compounds.

Also, why not get some vinyl floor covering

Im going to get that floor stuff and put a board/vinyl on top of it. I was going to avoid doing this, as I have a VW mat in there, but am starting to think of better insulation ideas for the floor in winter. I have also got the vapour barrier (i.e. think plastic) layed onto the painted metal which upon inspection is ok but may cause condensation. That said I think its going to be nigh on impossible to stop the actual floor from getting wet unless I leave it on the metal. I just need to make sure vapour/water doesnt get under it.
