Got my $80 worth of bits in the mail today and relaced Irenes hubs onto basic, but nice Alex alloy 27" rims. The proper wide X404 ones of course. Gotta redo the rear tommorrow as I didnt realize the spoke holes were directional. Still rolls and is true, just a cracking hazard...

Mounted up the two 1 1/4" Zaffiros. No levers needed. Tight? Dont think so. :D Nice tires, its wierd to see decent training tires, but in pudgy 3 speed proportions.

Switched out the levers for some sturdy Tektros.

Trued, sanded braking surfaces, etc...then a test ride;..WHOA! Best beer and pizza fetching bike ever! Rolls fast, corners like a demon, stops on a dime, and its a red girlie bike. Total undercover stealth. 8)

Pics to come, but its seriously my fave hood bike that Ive ever built from bits. Totally upright, which allows you to settle into the small leather divots of the Brooks like never before. Glad I didnt sell it, as it works perfectly with this geometry. Doing! Creak! :D

Just a bra under my woodsmans plaid, thankyouverymuch. :D

Seriously tho, back in Sweden, it didnt seem any men gave a rats ass about riding a drop tube bike. Its just in the UK and the US that people get all fussy about it.  It does make for a flexy frame, but its also easy to mount when youre laquered like a Japanese curio. :D

Yup, thats the way it gets ridden as well. Its a pure utility or Real Life(tm) bike. The drop frame is surprisingly convenient. I used it for half a dozen trips just yesterday.
