What do you all think?! I like it! Diesel so should be quite good on fuel.

Hmm am I right in thinking this would be a big job?

Xantia looks like it would be quite the task, but a xantia td will get ya 6-700 miles to a tank and theyre comfy as ya like.

Give the taxi a miss, sounds like it needs a new ring gear.  That isnt something you can fit yourself very easily, looking at £400ish.

Ok, got it back home yestarday night and then had a date with the girl friend, so heres some of my own pics of it:

I had to spend £18 on a tyre before driving it back as it was VERY bald.
It now has 259,000 miles on the clock.

It seems ok on the juice.

The petrol thingy works, one bulb is out from what I can see.

There is mainly cosmetic damage.

From what I can see it needs doing:
Lockable fuel cap
Check bulbs
Give it a good wash
Check the drive shafts (Slight grinding noise on the motorway)
New Battery
I might see if I can get a company to sponsor us with 5 new tyres.

Sweet, we need to attack that baby with some paint!

We agreed on Vince the Volvo? ;)

Reckon Ill manage to get home by the 11th of July? Its possible I wont have the same job by then, let alone that training course - but I guess as long as we can pass an airport if the drive home looks like itll take a lot longer...
