Neighbours just can't be trusted.
Our car has been dinged by so many of the fossils at my flat it's not even funny.
Their excuse is that it's too big.  No, you just can't drive.  We had the bumper resprayed after someone had scraped it.  Less than 24 hours later one of the antiques grazed it again, denied it despite having a black scuff on their red car, and our car having the corresponding red scuff on a black car.
Park down on the road and twats break into it or crash into it.
I'm tempted to coat it in pressure sensitive plastic explosives.  Crash into that now fuxker.

hit it with a honda cr-v hard enough to set the alarm off.. yet somehow only left this much damage?

If you have the money to buy and run such a nice M3 why on earth are you parking it on the street  ??? :dunno:

Hope you get it sorted anyway :)

Mind you, I say that...

In the couple of years I left my MR2 on my parents' drive it was,

A.) Riddled with blue paint marks from where my dad had opened his car door onto it  >:(

B.) Was moderately scratched/swirled on the bonnet where dad my had 'done me a favour' and washed my car with a sponge from the early 80s riddled with stones.

C.) The rear end was melted as someone set fire to the conifer tree on the drive, in the meatime my parents where both in the house having a party listening to their jukebox in the back room and where completely oblivious to the fact that there was a fire until firemen where practically breaking the door down to get their attention. Also keep in mind this was clearly visible about 20/30 houses up the road (it was a huge mature tree) the deaf and practically blind mind across the road was talking to me about how fierce it was, he's now died from old age, sums that little story up.

Hope that cheered you up.

This is exactly why I don't bother with new/decent/nice cars anymore. I've got a 2006 Pug Expert Van and a 2002 Megane dci banger that I wouldnt care if anything happened to either.
After the megane finally dies it'll be replaced with another <£500,<48hours remaining,<100 miles away ebay auction.

Gone are the days of parking 10" from the curb and across two spaces and washing it every weekend, cba with it anymore.

I would rather buy a non-mint example of a car for cheaper and not have to worry about it getting dinged (as I know I would stress constantly). As much as I hate my Skoda at times it even angers me seeing a fresh ding or scrape mark on that.

Some Most people don't give a flying fig about other people's property, sad but true. :( :disappointed:

Oh and Soopah, I hope your response to them is "If it's so big you should have no trouble seeing it to avoid hitting it!"

Because i dont want to spend my life moving the car on and off the driveway to let others in and out.

You're an m3 driver, act like one!

Park it in someone elses drive citing the reason "your car is a shed it doesn't deserve a drive" ;)

That looks quite a bit of damage when you think there shouldnt be much play/hollow space behind the edge of that rear wing / quarter, are they going to replace the quarter or just use some filler to make it appear the dent has been taken out, my guess is the latter, otherwise for such a little dent it will be rather pricy to repair. :P

Well even if not big it is in a tough spot and opens up for rust to begin quite quickly so it is really worse than it looks.

That wouldn't surprise me given what Bacon and bear pointed out (sounds like a good name for a pub that, the Bacon & Bear...)

If they write it off, buy it back off them

body shop have taken a look and provided an estimate for the insurance (dont know how much) if they authorise it the repair will be completed. the body shop seemed to think it would be reasonably easy to repair.
