The French are ahead - 0:1

Ahhh, real professional footballers doing their thing for a change.

Professionally.

And with skill.

England wouldnt have stood a chance against either of these two any way so just as well theyre on the way home.

Sorry, am I rubbing it in?...

Nor would Portugal  :-) This game has been a cut above so far. Which is nice.

Eagle, there is no need to be stirring anything.  England lost fair and square.  Maybe you should get over it.

This game is going exactly as I thought.  Who wins this should beat Portugal.

Come on, England have been rubbing it in since 1966.

Wanna know my main reason why Im so happy theyre out?  Well, wed never hear the end of it for another 40 years...

I think England (and especially the fans) have maybe now learnt some humilty; England arent as good as the fans think they are.

Ok, Im done with the ribbing. :)  Lets enjoy some great football ahead. :)

Now its going to be 44 years, 48 years, 52 years etc until we win it again.  Why should the English learn humility?

Its not as though the Irish, Scottish or Welsh know what that means.  We are all as bad as each other.  The difference is, not all English people want to see the other nations do badly, yet the feeling is not reciperocated :)

You are right and wrong when it comes to the team.  They do have world class players but under the outgoing management they have not played to their full potential.  Maybe under McClaren we will *shrug*.

It would be great if the other home nations were as good as England (accepting the shock victories ie Northern Ireland) but they arent.  Scotland appear to be going in the right direction after the cluster bomb that was Berti.  Northern Ireland are doing well under Sanchez.

Eagle, stop baiting please. The only reason Im not biting as hard as brummie is because it is expected of me (as a mod) not to.

To expect anything more than physical abuse from England fans on the eve of their knockout is a bit much tbh.

In fact I think thats true of just about any nation whose supporters actually support their team, as opposed to feigning a mild interest from time to time.
